The name comes from the Latin tegere, to cover. Cover as a noun — a thing you are under, never a thing anyone does to you. Tector is a marketplace for licensed protective and transport services. Tector is not a security agency, a protective services provider, a limousine operator, a motor carrier, or the employer of any driver or officer.

Tector helps the two sides find and document a fit. The service itself belongs to the firm and its client.
